Being born and raised in a Catholic household isn’t wrong but it doesn’t make you in right standing with God, neither does growing up in a Protestant family. Nobody has been saved all their life. The only way we can be made righteous is by faith in Jesus Christ, his finished work on the cross, and that alone. One can not receive absolution from a preist through penance nor by works nor do we gain favor through the intercessions of the virgin Mary (who, by the way, does not make intercession for us).

It is possible for Catholics to be saved, but only by Christ and by Christ only.
