Hey guys! So I have a problem. I try so hard to do what is right, and please God, but I mess it up all the time. I know that God will always love me, and be with me no matter what, but sometimes I just feel he’s distant. Plus, I tend to worry about this life rather than eternal life and I know that’s bad. I just don’t know how to snap out of it. Lastly I really want to spread the gospel and Jesus’ love with others, but sometimes i get to nervous, or I never know how. -

Hi! :)

He is never distant! He promises to be close to His children…

The problem lies in how we respond to God’s Word.

Do we trust Him fully? DO we really believe what He has to offer,

Many of our problems arise when we tend to give more importance to our emotions than what God has to offer! :)

Some verses that He is close to you:

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
 whose trust is the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water,
 that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
 for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
 for it does not cease to bear fruit.”

You keep him in perfect peace
 whose mind is stayed on you,
 because he trusts in you.
Trust in the Lord forever,
 for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.

You will say in that day:
“I will give thanks to you, O Lord,
 for though you were angry with me,
your anger turned away,
 that you might comfort me.

“Behold, God is my salvation;
 I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for the Lord God is my strength and my song,
 and he has become my salvation.”

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,
 which cannot be moved, but abides forever.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
 so the Lord surrounds his people,
 from this time forth and forevermore.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
 and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
 and he will make straight your paths.

Trust in the Lord, and do good;
 dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the Lord,
 and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord;
 trust in him, and he will act.
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,
 and your justice as the noonday.

Some verses about worrying:

Matthew 6:25-27  “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?  Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?

Matthew 6:34  Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Matthew 11:28-30  Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Luke 12:25 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his  span of life?

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you;my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you.Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Psalm 55:22  Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved

Worry Bible Scriptures Mentioning Anxiety

Proverbs 12:25 Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.

Philippians 4:6-7  do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 5:7casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Worry Verses Say Do Not Fear

Psalm 23:4  Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Isaiah 43:1-3  But now thus says the LORD, he who created you, O Jacob,  he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you;  I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;  and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you.
