Praying to Mary or any of the saints is not a sin. It is simply asking for their intercession to pray with us for something. It’s just like asking someone on Earth to pray for you. -

The thing is that none of that is biblical. 

When I ask people to pray with me or for me that’s because they are with me and they are alive, not dead. They are also not my mediator and neither is Mary.

 Jesus has risen and He is the only mediator and this is biblical:

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.” - 1 Timothy 2:5
