Anonymous asked: So I've been pretty down in the dumps lately. And I feel a disconnect from God. This lenten season I am trying to improve myself, do things that will bring me closer to God. I am super excited about it, I hope it brings me to life again, but the one thing I have always struggled with is, How do I know if what I am doing is enough for him. No human can know exactly how God works, so I get strung up on the details. Help? Scripture advice? Words of wisdom??

I understand why you’re doing lent, but to be honest.. we shouldn’t only focus on our relationship with Christ during this season. I truly believe that we should examine our relationship with Christ every single day not just on man made traditions.

Focusing on our relationship with Christ everyday is how we become closer to God. This is how your relationship with Him maintains strong. 

Ask the Holy Spirit into your heart and ask Him to lead you. The Holy Spirit will tell you if what you’re doing is enough for God.

“And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the LORD’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?” - Deuteronomy 10:12-13

As you can see Moses told us that there are a few ways in which we could please God.

• Having Fear of God. (Proverbs 9:10)
• Always walk in God’s ways. (Colossians 1:10)
• Love God. (Luke 10:27)
• Serve Him with all your heart and soul. (Luke 10:27)
• Observe His commands. (Luke 1:6)

&on top of all this make sure you have faith because..

“without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” - Hebrews 11:6
