My problem is that I try so hard not to masturbate and I pray to god to help me through it. Most of the times he does. but there are those times where I just do it. So my main point here is does God still forgive me even though I keep on repeating the same sin? I've been repeating this sin for almost 4 years. and I pray for forgivness but I i've asked for forgiveness for the same sin over and over.

God calls us to repent of all our sins, so that all our sins can be wiped away. When we repent God wipes the slate clean and keeps no record of our wrong doings. (Acts 3:19, Psalm 51:1, Hebrews 8:12, Jeremiah 31:31-34)

The Word of God tells us that God is just and faithful to forgive all our sins if we confess them to Him.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” - 1 John 1:9

“Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.” -Matthew 18:21-22

Now, when Jesus says to forgive someone 7 times 70, He wasn’t limiting forgiveness to 490 times. But what /he was implying is to always forgive those who offend you no matter the number of times they offend you. This means God will do just the same.

There is no limit to God’s forgiveness even if it’s for the same sin, but please keep in mind that this should not encourage us to keep on sinning or keep committing the same sin over and over again on purpose. We don’t encourage anyone to do this because even though God will forgive you, scripture also tells us that God will not be mocked.

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” - Galatians 6:7
