This may sound like a petty question, but it’s something I’m struggling with. I know that it says in the bible, somewhere in Romans, that we shall not conform to the patterns of this world. I really like One Direction and I think it’s gotten to the point where it’s beyond obsession. I just need your advice on media, especially music and celebrities. Where do we draw the line? How do I draw the line? -

Obsession and the road to obsession is totally where one should draw the line. Obsession in a way IS idolizing.

Let’s see what the bible says about this:

We know that an idol is nothing at all in the world and that there is no God but one.  For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth, yet there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is none but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.”   -1 Corinthians 8:4-6

This verse tells us that idols mean nothing.  Now don’t get me wrong a person does definitely mean something, but they aren’t put there for you to worship the ground they walk on!

It’s definitely alright to  look up to a celebrity but please just don’t go so overboard that it could lead to an obsession or take Jesus place in your life.

If your having trouble with this obsession take it Jesus and ask Him to help you! I’m more then positive He’d love too!  :)

Blessings! <3
