I have been thinking about this lately because of that new show "Long Island Medium"( I know it sounds so silly) but like as christians is it ok to believe that some people communicate with the dead? I know the show is fake and all that but could things like that actually happen?

A lot of “psychics ” are known to be frauds. Research proves that psychics are unreliable with their predictions. In addition, some psychics have been caught using technologies such as caller ID to obtain personal information (such as where a caller lives) giving the impression that they have “insights” on the caller’s life. Taking note of documented inaccuracies as well as cheating activities, man people conclude that psychics have no power beyond the human realm. BUT, is it possible that there are some occasions in which psychics successfully note future activities or provide insights that would not be known by natural means? And, if so, how would we explain these connections to the supernatural realm? 

The bible tells us that supernatural powers are exercised by two sources: God who grants such powers to His angelic messengers, and Satan, who in turn grants powers to his demonic spirits (Ephesians 6:12). Since physic activity is condemned as a sinful practice throughout scripture (Deutronmy 18:10-11; Acts 16:16-24), any instance in which a psycic taps into real supernatural power is an instance in which the “spiritual forces of evil” (Ephisians 6:12) have been utilized. In other owrds, a physic who claims to communicate with the spirit world is communicating with evil spirits (demons not human spirits). These spirits can perhaps provide information unkown through other human means. 

Christians rightly oppose such practices, for communion with demons is flirtation with deep deception. however, we should not imagine that their powers are stronger than God’s.

“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” - 1 John 4:4

Some psychics may tap into supernatural power, but we who know Christ have the Holy Spirit within us. And the power of God can punch all powers in the face with ease. Even the eagle powers from Nacho Libre! HaHA! I’m serious though! 

In the book of Acts, a sorcerer named Simon amazed people through his acts of sorcery. However, when a Christian evangelist named Philip arrived and cast out evil spirits, Simon “was astounded”  at the power he displayed (Acts 8:13). Simon realized that his supernatural powers were small in comparison with the Holy Spirit who worked in and through Christians. 

So, in conclusion. Most psychics are fakes, frauds, you name it. BUT there are some who do communicate with spirits (not human spirits but demon spirits). There is no such thing as communicating with dead human spirits.

Anonymous asked: my two friends made a video of themselves in her room and they were singing, and then the door behind them started to open slowly, she looked back, no one was there, and then the water bottle on the shelf fell, like it got pushed on the floor, they stopped and then turned around, no one was home, then one of them had the guts to get up and check it out, then when she walked towards the door, and the door slammed shut :/ what was it? no one was home

That could be some pretty spooky stuff when you don’t know who or what your dealing with.

 “Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.” - Hebrews 9:27

The verse above lets us know that after one dies they either go to heaven or hell. simply put.  Meaning there is no in-between. There are no roaming human spirits or ghosts after death. (also see Luke 16:26-31)

When you get to know the spiritual world through Jesus of course. God will open up your eyes and teach you of the unknown. 

The truth behind ghosts is that they are truly demons under satan’s control. Some of you might read this and think to yourselves ”Well that’s stupid. why would satan do a thing like that?”

Well, to be perfectly honest it’s really not so stupid. In fact it’s actually pretty genius and it’s working very well. When people believe that when they die they can roam the earth they believe that they no longer have to worry about God or anything else, and this so far from true. Theses people are falling under satan’s trap. 

So what I believe your friends had an encounter with are demons, so keep your friends in prayer and ask God to watch over them and protect them.

No, you don’t have to get rid of the laptop. 

Just make sure you pray over that laptop and ask God to break any curses on it. Sometimes used items still carry evil spirits from the person that once owned them and we need to be careful with that. So make sure you pray over that laptop.

Handkerchiefs and aprons that touched Paul carried holiness and were used to cure the sick even when he wasn’t wearing them.

“so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.” - Acts 19:12

But if you feel in your heart that God is telling you to get rid of the laptop then do what God says. c:

I can’t say with certainty because it isn’t in the bible. I believe it could be possible but that we shouldn’t get caught up on that, and every time a cat acts weird we shouldn’t flip out about it.

I will say that the Bible says God won’t allow you to be tempted beyond what we can stand up under. This doesn’t mean that everything the devil does he has to get God’s permission for. The devil is a rebel and operates as such but we operate in the authority of Jesus. If the devil comes against us we have authority over him.

I've had my share of encounters with spirits trying to mess with me and saying that always works, but you MUST say it out loud. Jesus' name is so powerful and he gives us strength. To make a long story short, angels have free will. An angel named Lucifer, who we now call Satan, rebelled and he brought other angels with him when he was no longer one of God’s angels. Jude verse 6 talks about angels who did not stay in their proper domain but left their own home. Angels are a type of spiritual beings. When they leave their domain they become demons. Their will is against God.

You aren’t crazy, you just have a fear of something. There isn’t any need to be scared though!
