lostinhisunfailinglove asked: Hey. So, I'm a Vegan and I keep finding myself being criticized by people saying things like "God created meat," "it's a sin to not eat meat," etc. But it makes me sick to even think of one of God's creation being treated so wrongly. My parents even took me to see a psychologist.. which I thought was a complete joke. They always make me feel guilty for it and my Pastor even tried to get me to swear on the bible that I would start eating meat. How do I convince them that I'm fine &its my choice?

My bro (aymar), my mom, dad, and I went to the vegfest a while back because we’re big ‘ol nerds. c:  hahahaa. (My whole family is vegan)

anyway. while walking around we found a booth about Christian Vegetarians/Vegans & we picked up some pamphlets that they were giving out. If you want??  I could mail you one! It defends those who are Christians and vegetarians at the same time with scripture as back up.

I think it’s horrible what your pastor tried to get you to do, that’s just wrong. We should never swear on the bible or let alone swear on anything not even on ourselves for we can not make one strand of our hair “turn from black to white”.

“Above all, my brothers, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. Let your “Yes” be yes, and your “No,” no, or you will be condemned.” - James 5:12

“And don’t swear an oath by your head. After all, you cannot make one hair black or white.” - Matthew 5:36

The bible also tells us not to judge others based on what they eat.

“The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him.”  - Romans 14:3

(I got this website from the pamphlet.)

Once again, if you want me to mail you the pamphlet just let me know c:

Vegetarian

I read several answers we’ve done about Christians not understanding vegetarianism and such. While all things can be received by thanksgiving it is still a choice. There was never a command that we must eat meat. In fact, Paul talks both in Romans and in 1 Corinthians about this issue. Paul in Romans said not to condemn those who eat and not to condemn those who don’t eat. Worded plainly is that if you believe it’s wrong to eat something and ate it anyway it’s sin.

I’m not a vegetarian due to my conscious but just personal choice. Some people are genuinely interested where as others want to try to tell me I’m wrong, accuse me of following the law and not Jesus, on and on. Those people will receive those scripture references from me and to those with genuine interest I’ll give them all the information I can.

Anonymous asked: I'm a Christian but I'm also vegetarian. Recently people have been challenging me about why I'm vegetarian when God gave the right for humans to rule of animals and Jesus ate fish. Do you have any reasons I could use to argue back?

Oh, yes! That’s one of the bummers of being a vegan or vegiterian and a Christian at the same time. So many people wanna force you to eat meat because they say God gave us meat and we should be eating it. I try to avoid putting any scripture in my answer when I talk to them because then a huge argument will arise. I learned that the hard way.

Plus when people ask you this question it’s not really because they really care about what you have to say but because they wanna try to prove you wrong.

So now I simply just tell them about all the cruelty that goes on in slaughter houses and how it breaks my heart. A lot of people don’t know how horrible animals are treated.

I’m also not a fan of all the hormones that are injected into animals, it’s not healthy.

God knows the reason why I’m vegan and He’s 100% alright with it. c:

God Bless you! <3
