Anonymous asked: i know drinking underage is a sin.... but why does the catholic church offer wine every week to kids as young as 10?
The reason and answer to your question is simply because there are many churches that still follow old traditions that were made by man.
But the word of God tells us that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1cori 6:19-20). And the word of God also tells us that a little bit of yeast works through the whole batch of dough (galatians 5:9). In this case, God is telling us that even a little alcohol contaminates our entire body.
When you decide in your heart to serve Christ, you have to believe that His word will not return empty (isaiah 55:11) and it’s His word that prevents us from sinning against Him.
How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word (psalm (119:9).
I will keep Your word in my heart so I will not sin against You (psalm 119:11).
The decision to drink wine or not to drink is by individual choice, but remember that in obedience, blessings are found (deuteronomy 28).
Be Blessed, anon!

Anonymous asked: This is kind of random, but I know someone who was an alcoholic and couldn't stop drinking. Until one day, he asked God to take the temptation away and the same day, the craving for beer left him. I just wanted to share this because just know that God is always there and He will always be there for you :)
Thanks for sharing!! Awesome testimony!! :D
Anonymous asked: I have a friend that drinks wine every now and then, but she is underage. She is supervised and has permission from the adult to drink. Is this wrong? Should she stop?
Hello! :D
Yes, she should stop.
You’re friend is underage, so if she’s drinking, she’s breaking the law and going against government authorities. The law says the drinking age is 21, it never says a minor could drink if they have a parent/guardian pressent or permission from an adult. The drinking age is 21 so if your drinking under this age your breaking the law.

Check out Romans 13 to see what God has to say about going against government authorities.

Anonymous asked: To the anon who was talking about fitting in: I live in a dorm full of people who go out drinking almost every night. Sin is heavy here. But I choose to do what is right and stay away from temptation. It's not easy but it's worth it. B/c it brings God closer to me! He sees me trying to live a countercultural lifestyle and gives me the strength to do so! There are people out there who want to glorify God and do what is right! Just pray that God will you bring them to you! Romans 12:2! :)
Anonymous asked: Hey What are your thoughts on Alcohol? Do any of your team drink? wheres the line etc. My boyfriend of 4 years does drink (not to get off his face) but i dont drink and i hate drinking and I hate that he does drink. i grew up in a christian home where no-one drank alcohol whereas he grew up in a non christian home where its the normal thing to do. Its a huge barrier in our relationship that continually hurts me. any ideas or suggestions on what to do??
Hi!!! c:
To my knowledge, none of us at BHFJ consume any type of alcohol.
&Here’s why:
The world that we live on is very judgmental. &If people who don’t know God see you drinking they honestly won’t take your relationship with Christ seriously, you know? It’ll be hard for them to see the difference Christ has made in your life when you are living the same way they are.
In the bible we are warned about alcohol because it’s very easy to abuse it. God tells us not to get drunk. (Ephesians 5:18)
Getting drunk leads to: lying, adultery, swearing, cheating, hypocrisy, pride, or even blasphemy.
When most people think about alcohol the first thing that pops into their heads is “getting drunk”.
“It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak.” - Romans 14:21
You can cause someone to stumble into sin by your actions. This is why to me it’s very important not to drink.
Even though the Bible never states, “Thou shalt not drink.” the Bible does give us some great reasons as to why we shouldn’t drink: Because..
- Alcohol is easy to abuse.
- Drinking is closely connected to a life without Christ.
- We don’t want to cause anyone to stumble into sin.
- And because we have a far superior satisfaction. Jesus Christ can satisfy you like nothing else can. Put your trust in the Lord, and ask Him to be your supreme satisfaction.
If your boyfriends alcohol consumption is bothering you, I suggest you confront him about it in a calm manner. Tell him that you feel it’s a huge barrier in your relationship with him and tell him why.
We hope everything works out for the best & we’ll be praying for you both! <3
bless you!!! <3
Anonymous asked: I've been struggling with drinking alcohol. I feel like a bad christian and I feel like I'm going to fall into this addiction and become a drunk. I'm not there yet but I know I'm getting there. I'm a weak person and when the opportunity to drink comes up I take it. what do I do? I feel like God feels this utter disappointment when he sees me and I feel like a complete hypocrite when I go to church. How do I stay srong to fight this temptation?
If you’re feeling convicted when drinking alcohol, it’s probably because you shouldn’t be drinking it. You, yourself said that you feel if you drink alcohol you might get drunk (because you are weak). Getting drunk is a sin, buddy.
“Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise.” - Proverbs 20:1
God wants us to flee from temptation. I think the best advice I could give you is: stop drinking alcohol.

yourcraysisterinchrist asked: Hey guys, I just had the wonderful opportunity to show God's love to my neighbors, they are both alcoholics, and incredibly broken, they have been binging non stop for the last 8 days, and came over to apologize for the crazy things we have had to bare, I hugged them and just loved them. Their families have turned their backs on them, and they have nothing left. They do not know God. They said they going to see drug & alcohol counselor today. Could you please pray for them. xxx
Wow that’s awesome! Praying for them

Anonymous asked: Please pray for me. I have been a victim to so much sin, just like everyone else has. I have most recently given into the sins of drinking and smoking and for awhile I have always cussed. Previously though I have been depressed and given into self-harm, cutting. I just..I need God's grace more than ever. I feel so bad for all of the sins I have commited and I just want to be someone that people can be inspired by. If anything I just want to be a Godly woman and spread his message! please pray.
Nobody’s perfect. We’re all sinners. We’re all victims to sin.
But it’s because of God’s mercy, goodness and love that we have salvation and forgiveness through Jesus. He loves you. He truly does. And we’re not anyone to judge you. All you have to do is lay it all down in God’s hands. It’s never too late. Tell Him how you feel. Tell Him that you feel bad. Just ask for forgiveness. He says to ask for forgiveness and He’ll forgive you. He forgives you because He loves you. And He’ll never ever let you go. He says He’s with us till the end of the age. He’s with you. And He loves you very much. I invite you to say this prayer with me;
(my prayer for you)
Dear Lord Jesus,
I ask you to forgive me for all those whom I have offended. I also forgive those who have offended and hurt me. Lord, You know my heart. I want to live for You and You alone. I need Your love. I need Your touch. I need You. Because this life is meaningless without You. God, my dreams, hopes, desires are all worthless if You aren’t the center of them. I fix my eyes upon You o Sovereign God. Today, I make You the very center of my life. I know You will guide me. I put all my trust in You. Thank You Jesus for loving me. I will never let You go. It is written in Your word that You forgive those come to You and ask for forgiveness. Father, today I ask you to forgive me for all my sins. Help me Lord to not fall into temptation anymore. Because only You can help me overcome all temptations. Burn to ashes everything in me that is of disgrace to You. Consume all my wrongs with Your cleansing fire. Diminish all my wrongs. Thank You Lord, for forgiving me. Thank You Jesus for Your mercy. I love you Lord! With all my heart, I will follow You. In Jesus name. Amen.
Same power that conquered the grave lives in you. Jesus is alive in you.
