Anonymous asked: sometimes i don't feel like reading my Bible, sometimes i don't feel the Holy Spirit. Why is that?

Hi!

You don’t always necessarily have to feel God’s presence with you. You have to remember that God is with us 24/7! &He will always be with us to the end.

“For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.” - Psalm 48:14

The way to feel the anointing of God more powerful is to have your heart desire it. God knows what’s in your heart <3 (Acts 15:8)

“Call to me & I will answer you” - Jeremiah 33:3

Blessings!

Anonymous asked: why do i always feel sad/like crying when i read and think about God and Jesus?

Because God has touched your heart. And what you feel is the love of God that manifests in your life. And as your your learning the word of God, your connection with Him is getting stronger, and God is going to reveal to you so much more than you could ever think or ask for.

God Bless You Cook Kid! :D

Anonymous asked: how do you receive speaking in tongues? in corinthians it says that we are given certain gifts... does that mean that people cant have ALL OF THEM? if so, it contradicts asking and receiving [matthews 7].

You receive by faith, just like salvation. You can thank the Lord that he has poured out his Spirit and declare that you receive by faith and ask him to fill you to overflowing with his Spirit and step out in faith and begin to speak what is in your spirit.

In Corinthians where it says that the Spirit distributes to each person as he determines is actually that the Spirit distributes for what is needed. If one were to “have the gift of healing” but a person needed a word of wisdom then that person with the gift of healing could do nothing. In reality, the Spirit distributes the gift for the purpose. The believer discerns by the Spirit that a person needs healing or the Spirit gives a word to the believer to give someone. Also, the gift of tongues is not exactly the same as the personal prayer language we receive when we’re baptized in the Spirit in that there are different uses. There isn’t always a message of tongues, which is the gift of tongues which is accompanied by interpretation, but our prayer language is available for us any time we want. Some don’t agree with this but if you look at 1 Cor 12:9 it talks about a gift of faith. We know that all have faith who come to the Lord, that we live by faith and not by sight, but there is a separate gift of faith in the ministry of the Spirit.

Anonymous asked: i thought speaking in tongues was a spiritual gift and not every christian had that gift?

There’s the gift of tongues but not everyone who ‘speaks in tongues’ is in the gift of tongues. There’s a difference between one, also called praying in the spirit, and the other which is the spiritual gift.

I also believe that when we take a proper look at scripture that whoever has been baptized in the Spirit can operate in any of the spiritual gifts. When the bible says it’s distributed as God wills I believe that is talking about God’s will for the situation. If I come across someone who needs a word of knowledge it isn’t needed for me to go up and work a miracle. God will give me a word, not have me work a miracle. Now we do have gifts we operate in more than others because we have greater faith in that area. I also don’t believe Paul was trying to give an exhaustive list of the gifts nor saying that we should categorize them all the time, but should be obedient to what God is leading us to do.

Anonymous asked: is it bad if you don't speak in toughs ? does every Christian have 2

It isn’t bad and it isn’t required for salvation but it is commanded in the bible, and is an integral part of the great commission. It isn’t something that should be seen as a requirement, it is as Jesus said “the promise of the Father”.

Anonymous asked: Hello. Im a christian and baptised, but i cant pray in tongues. How do i do so? :(

It’s all about faith. Just like we receive salvation by faith we receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit in faith. God doesn’t just take over and we’re suddenly speaking, it takes the faith to begin to speak.

Anonymous asked: This blog was the first tumblr I followed when I joined. It use to be one of my favorite Christian blogs to follow because you didnt say homosexuality was a sin and that people needed to "over come it". Lately you have been though and its disappointing. Im gay and Christian. Things like this are heartbreaking; its like you're telling me I cant love God and be me.

Truth is people don’t need to “overcome” it. Jesus did that on the cross. We don’t live by our power but in the power of the Spirit. Romans 6:14 says sin shall have no dominion over you. When someone is born again their spirit is renewed and made completely righteous. 1 John 4:17 says as Christ is, so are we in this world. Galatians 5:16 says if we walk in the Spirit we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Your freedom from walking bound by sin is by walking in the Spirit. God’s grace does not mean we don’t call sin, sin. When we do not walk in the Spirit we will sin. If we sin, Jesus is our advocate.

I am sorry you feel heart broken! You can love God as much as you possibly can & He loves you as much as He can possibly love a person just as you are, however He doesn’t like the sin in us. Being a legit christian we do not have a choice to believe what we chose from the bible. We either believe the bible from genesis to revelations & follow it as best as we can or we don’t believe it at all. Picking & choosing from the bible what we think is best for us it is not being a true christian, which means a follower of Christ. There’s a difference between following Christ & being a fan of Jesus. A Fan is an enthusiastic admirer & a follower is completely committed (http://www.notafan.com/).

When God states on His word that there are thing we must never do, being an abomination, sin or simply against his law; it is not because He doesn’t loves us BUTthe other way around. Because He loves us so much He wants to make sure we are never away from Him, He wants to make sure we be in heaven with Him so we never suffer again. His law is perfect to guard us & protect us, never to hurt us. Braking His law draw us away from Him until one day we have no relationship with Him.

It is not what we say, think, hey it’s not even what we believe but what the bible states regarding homosexuality. It is His word not ours. And if you been reading this blogs you must have seen the bible verses (if not see below) there are so many that speak on this subject.

Here is a website that helps http://www.genesiscounseling.org/

1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[a] 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Leviticus 18:22  Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Romans 1:26  For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

Romans 1:27  And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Romans 1:32  Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Read this story on Genesis 19:1

Romans 8:1-3

We have hope in Jesus when we turn our lives around:

1There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. 3For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do: by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and to deal with sin, he condemned sin in the flesh…

Anonymous asked: my question regards SPEAKING IN TONGUES. i've heard mixed comments... some people have told me they believe it is okay to speak in tongues. but if it is done in front of people/congregation/someone in particular, it should be interpreted. if that is so, what would you say about kim walker's spontaneous songs about when she speaks in tongues?

There is a lot of different beliefs about this. It involves a difference between speaking in tongues, the manifestation or gift, and the prayer language (between one’s self and God). 1 Cor 14:15 Paul talks about singing in the spirit and also in understanding. Kim Walker is singing in the spirit.

I believe people who have never been around the gifts of the Spirit in operation are more easily confused because they don’t know how they work. The biggest confusion is the difference between a word in tongues and praying in the spirit. We’ve had some people offended who visited my church because we were praying over a sick person and some were praying in tongues. There was a couple who visited together who we’re upset there was no interpretation. However this was not a word, but prayer, and was not done loudly. When someone gives a word in tongues it is known. I’ve given a word in tongues before in a church that had never experienced that. The Holy Spirit witnessed with the others what was going on and no music was played so that the message would be heard. Everyone remained quiet as another interpreted and after that interpretation someone received a confirmation through scripture.

Anonymous asked: the other night when i was singing some worship songs at my church, i started pouring out tears for no reason, after a strong preacher just preached,is that a sign of the Holy spirit? it felt so amazing :)

Yes! Holy Spirit does things like that. You could even start laughing. Holy Spirit is intimate too, and so you may feel the heart of God about an issue; you may feel an intense burden for someone and it’s being connected with how God feels.

Anonymous asked: what does it mean to be "Prophetic"?

The question “are you prophetic” I don’t 100% agree with because it makes it sound like it’s the person’s gift when it’s the Spirit’s gift. But I understand what is meant by it. It means that someone operate in ‘the prophetic’, which is an umbrella term relating to prophetic related.

In the spiritual age we’re in there is an office of a prophet, just like there’s the office of evangelist, pastor, etc. There’s also the gift of prophecy, which all believers who have been baptized in the Holy Spirit can operate in. ‘The prophetic’ also encompasses dreams and visions.
