Anonymous asked: I'm having a problem with master bation and porn I want to stop but I don't know how I feel so ashamed and I'm scared to continue trying to find god because I'm blantly doing it

The most important thing above all is to keep seeking for God no matter what and never to stop doing that. Without God you being free from masturbation and pornography is never going to happen. God is the only one who can liberate you from all the things the world ties us down with. Trust God and don’t stop. There is nothing you can do or nowhere you can be to hide from God.

“Can anyone hide in secret places so that I cannot see him?” declares the LORD. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the LORD.”  - Jeremiah 23:24

The truth is you really do need God, we all do. Ask Jesus to help you and set you free from these chains that have you tied down. Sincerely with all your heart and out loud pray and ask Jesus for this every single day and whenever you can.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” - Matthew 7:7

Jesus wants to set you free, but please don’t run and hide from Him. We’ll keep you in our prayers, friend. God bless you! We love you and God loves you more then you could ever imagine.  :)

Freedom from Pornography - James’ Testimony

Anonymous asked: OK, So I am a senior in high school, who has been addicted to pornography and masturbation since 8th grade. I tried to get off it but the efforts have been to no avail. Also, I have a gf that is unsaved. I have completely fallen off the path. Even when I am with her it feels like I am not. In addition, I have heard all the sermons about unequally yoked, etc. and all the run away from porn sermons etc. I just cant seem to get away. What do i do? smh

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.” - 1 Corinthians 10:13

When you get tempted into watching pornography, masturbation, or any temptation, God will always provide a way out for you.

God tells us to flee from temptation, knowing this is not enough if you do not apply this to your life. Next time you’re tempted try to distract yourself by praying, reading your bible, going for a walk, playing a video game, reading a book, etc.

Also, if you truly long to be set free of masturbation and pornography, then you need to sincerely cry out to Jesus becuase it’s only through Him that we will be truly free.

Anonymous asked: I know you already have a section for masturbation but none of them seem to have this question. My problem is that I try so hard not to masturbate and I pray to god to help me through it. Most of the times he does. but there are those times where I just do it. So my main point here is does God still forgive me even though I keep on repeating the same sin? I've been repeating this sin for almost 4 years. and I pray for forgivness but I i've asked for forgiveness for the same sin over and over.

Hi! c:

God calls us to repent of all our sins, so that all our sins can be wiped away. When we repent God wipes the slate clean and keeps no record of our wrong doings. (Acts 3:19, Psalm 51:1, Hebrews 8:12, Jeremiah 31:31-34)

The Word of God tells us that God is just and faithful to forgive all our sins if we confess them to Him.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” - 1 John 1:9

“Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.” -Matthew 18:21-22

Now, when Jesus says to forgive someone 7 times 70, He wasn’t limiting forgiveness to 490 times. But what /he was implying is to always forgive those who offend you no matter the number of times they offend you. This means God will do just the same.

There is no limit to God’s forgiveness even if it’s for the same sin, but please keep in mind that this should not encourage us to keep on sinning or keep committing the same sin over and over again on purpose. We don’t encourage anyone to do this because even though God will forgive you, scripture also tells us that God will not be mocked.

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” - Galatians 6:7

We strongly encourage you to read some of our posts on how to deal with temptation: http://bearhugsforjesus.tumblr.com/tagged/temptation

Anonymous asked: Is it wrong to masturbate to the thought of your spouse?

To that there isn’t directly anything scriptural saying either way. That doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be an issue. One should follow the Holy Spirit. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit not only to empower us to do the works he did, but also to live as he did. We’re supposed to follow God’s word but also the Spirit. Yet many are trying to find loopholes in order to sin, such people are not living according to the Spirit but according to the law and are therefore bound to sin. 1 Cor 15:56 says the power of sin is the law.

Anonymous asked: Hi! I love your blog! I always feel uplifted reading it. I have a problem.. I am a christian, but i struggle with masturbation. I know its wrong. I always feel bad and condemned after. I feel like its wrong for me to do it, knowing its wrong, then ask God for forgiveness.. I feel like a hypocrite.. I guess my question is, how does God feel when we do something we know is wrong, then ask forgiveness.. and how do i overcome this? what do i do?

Glory to God for that :)

You have already been forgiven. That’s the message of the Cross. You sin and know it is sin… like everyone one here has  said, it hurts your relationship with Jesus… but once you acknowledge that you did indeed sin knowingly.. you are restored. Thats called Grace!

That is the message of the Cross. You are already perfect because Jesus is perfect in YOU. You are no longer a sinner but a prince/princess in the Kingdom of God, yet you will fall into sin.

The key is to be restored immediately so that you can continue your walk with Jesus in that close relationship that He so wants with you and that you so desire.

We hit walls in our life but they can be torn if we give our all to God. And you in order for God to help you overcome something, it needs to come from your heart to really want to overcome it. We can pray for you all day, but it needs to come from you. To live in freedom! Woo Hoo! God loves YOU so much! He encourages to release that sin into His hands and let Him do the rest! What He will do next will bring you JOY! :D

It’s also very important to forgive others because God won’t forgive you unless you forgive others.

  • “For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”Matthew 6:14-15
  • 1 John 2:1, 1 John 1:9, Acts 3:19, Isaiah 43:25-26, Romans 8:1..

I encourage you today, to put on your armor both day in and day out, daily. (Ephesians 6:10-18)

To protect you from anything that the enemy wants to throw your way (in the mind and in the physical). Also, read some scripture daily. Why?.. Well.. why not? The bible is EPIC. And if you apply your life to it and live by God’s word, then you’ll live an EPIC life. Proverbs is an invaluable book of practical wisdom. Proverbs is the main book in what is called the collection of wisdom literature. The others are, Ecclesiastes, Job and part of Psalms. The first part of the book is the wisdom of God speaking in first person, directly to the reader. Regardless of the speaker, wisdom, the Proverbs address all of the human experience and offers great direct wisdom. It gives us the ultimate road map to life and for our interpersonal relationship with God. It’ll help you conqueror your situation, without a doubt.

It also helps to know the truth about pornography and what you support when you lust or masturbate or watch pornography. Check this video out. harsh but true facts. truth sets you free (John 8:32): http://vimeo.com/11485513

The bible doesn’t say anything about “masturbation”.. but it is clear from scripture that illicit sexual fantasies are forbidden, and this is a significant issue with masturbation.

  • [Jesus:] “But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.” Matthew 5:28-29

Masturbation isn’t God’s best for you or anyone. It’s hard to overcome the flesh.. but it’s nothing that Jesus can’t or won’t overcome in you. But you have to left Him. And you have to want to change and overcome that.

  • Ask God for wisdom.
  • Put on your armor.
  • Give your all in to God! :D

Read some scripture daily because through it, Jesus will edify you and make you indifferent!!!

You’ll be like salt and light to the world. (Matthew 5:13-16)

I believe in you kid. Nothing is impossible for God. And it’s never too late to start trying.

Anonymous asked: hi! well i might as well just tell you my problem right off the bat. i am tempted with masturbation alot. i usually never pray about it and when ever the thought comes i do it and i feel incredibly guilty after/ i pray and ask for forgiveness but i STILL feel terrible..

You have to pray about it.

The only way you’ll become free of masturbation is through God, but you have to talk to Him. Humble yourself and ask Him for help. God can free you of anything.

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” - Hebrews 4:16

If you ask God for forgiveness, if you confess your sins to Him the bible says he’s faithful & just to forgive. (1 John 1:9). Once you ask God forgiveness, God will remember your sins no more. (Hebrews 8:12)

&Don’t be so hard on yourself. You have to learn how to forgive yourself as well.

God bless <3

Anonymous asked: So, I was reading your answer on why it's bad to masturbate. You said, "Although the bible doesn’t really touch on this topic it seems to me that it’s pretty clear that the thoughts and actions taken when doing this aren’t “Holy Thoughts or Actions” e.g. watching pornography and thinking lustful thoughts. and that’s what makes it a sin." You said that it's the unholy thoughts and actions (porn) that makes it a sin. But what if you just did it without the lustful thoughts and porn?

Once again the bible doesn’t really touch on this subject. But there is so much context in the bible that leads us to believe why christians shouldn’t do this.

1 Cor. 6:18 ”Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body.”

The word “immorality” in the greek language is called porneia .

Porneia means: illicit sexual intercourse, i.e., fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, etc.  The English word “pornography” is derived from this Greek word.

Eph. 5:3 ”But do not let immorality or any impurity or greed even be named among you, as is proper among saints.”

Col. 3:5 “Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.”

1 Thess. 4:2-5 “For you know what commandments we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus. 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 5 not in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God.”

God wants us to be pure. That’s a fact.

I wouldn’t put ”masturbation” under the “purecategory.

We shouldn’t let anything have complete control over us or Master us.

Only God can set you free if you are a victim of masturbation.

God Bless :)
