Anonymous asked: what does it mean to be free from sin?

Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness… But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. — Rom 6:1822

“There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life
set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1-4)

So,  It means that sin is no longer your boss or your master.

Anonymous asked: My friend sins a lot then asks for forgiveness and thinks everything is okay and he can do it again just as long as he repents. Is that wrong?

Yes. That is very wrong to do.

Repenting and still continuing to sin willfully is an abomination to God. Yes, God will forgive your friend’s sins if he repents, but what he’s doing is mocking God and God will not be mocked.

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”Galatians 6:7

If your friend is truly born again and has the Holy Spirit residing in him, he should then feel convicted of the sins he commits and want to repent, and try more then his best to not commit that sin again.

Anonymous asked: Is it alright to believe in God but not consider yourself a christian? I have my own reason for this and all, but that takes up a lot of explanation. I believe that our God sent his son to die for us and all of that, but I don't like the thought of calling myself a christian if I keep doing.. non christian stuff. Understand me? Kinda? eh. It's complicated in my eyes.

Your problem doesn’t come from a term, it comes from feeling unworthy. The term was coined by others outside of the fellowship at Antioch in Acts 11:26.
We are not accepted or justified by our own righteousness. Romans 5:1 We are justified through faith. Our spirit is righteous, the Holy Spirit indwells us and we’re dead to sin , Rom 6:11, Romans 6:6, Col 3:3.
We’re a new creation, 2 Cor 5:17. IF we sin, Christ is our advocate 1 John 2. Just because there is sin doesn’t mean you aren’t born again. We are made new though, and have the power to never sin again. It’s when we realize that through faith we’re made new but that there’s forgiveness when we mess up, fail, disobey. It shouldn’t be lifestyle, but is assurance that we aren’t held down because we mess up.

Anonymous asked: Satan is neither omniscient, omnipotent, nor omnipresent ? Sorry i'm only 16 what does this mean? but if the devil is not everywhere then how come it's easy to think of sin or get tempted into something?

or all knowing, all powerful, and being everywhere at one time)

The bible says sin is what has dominion over us prior to our spirit being reborn, which is through the sin nature that we’ve received due to the fall of man back in the garden. This was power
man gave Satan. Satan only has as much power over us as we give him. Over man, Satan has placed deception, lies, mindsets, etc, which are advanced by both demons and by the lives/lifestyles of those who aren’t in Christ. We have to renew our minds. I do not believe it is always, or even usually, directly related to Satan himself or demons but due to the fact we have to make a choice continually to walk in the spirit, which has been made righteous, so that the flesh and the soul would be under submission. In doing so we will also be walking in the Spirit. Galatians 5:6 says, walk in the Spirit and you won’t satisfy the lusts of the flesh.

Anonymous asked: i guess she just likes to think that God does exist but doesn't really care about it. but what if you're a christian and love God more than anything in the world but you struggle with sin, and constantly disappoint God. you've repented, but fell into sin again. would you go to heaven? i know God's grace goes beyond all sin and i know God is the only one who can actually determine who gets to spend eternal life with him and stuff, but i'm just worried that i'm not good enough.

Salvation is by grace through faith, not by our personal performance. You’ll live more holy by understanding your identity in Christ than you ever will by following a list of dos and don’ts. It is not a license to sin but a walking in your true identity. The bible does say in 1 Cor 13:5 “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?unless indeed you are disqualified.” It’s all about genuine faith.

Anonymous asked: what can you say about facebook? because every time I log in I think it's a worldy pursuit and all, do you think it's a sin?

Yeah, like anything, facebook can be something that clogs out your time and gets in the way of more important things. Within that though there is nothing wrong with it. More than that, Facebook is a great tool for ministry.

We even have a facebook page http://facebook.com/bearhugsforjesus

findyoursmiles asked: Tyler, I wanted to say that I loved your answer to a recent question about homosexuality not being a choice, it's just instinctive for some people. Your reasoning & explaination for that is so very true. We were made in God's image, but have to find it in by going to Him and seeking out the good in our lives. Since sin is now an inescapable part of the world. Sin is now a nnatural thing. But just cause things are, "natural" or "normal", doesn't mean their good for us. I loved your point about

Thank you. I’d like to say we can escape sin but only through one way - that being Jesus - but that is a defining point because when the grace of God is preached some may think that it’s a license to sin. This is what Paul is addressing at the beginning of the 6th chapter of Romans. Also, I’d like to clarify on the sin nature. It isn’t instinctive. What I’m saying is it is what has naturally flown out of corruption. The bible says that men sinned before there was the law but it was not counted against them because the law did not exist. You can find that in Romans 5, specifically the 13th verse. The consequence to that was still there even though it wasn’t counted against them. There was a purpose behind the law being given. Now the righteous requirements found in the law are filled through Jesus’ finished work on the cross. All our iniquities were laid on Jesus. We are made righteous through faith. We are meant to be free though.
Romans 8:
4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

We walk according to the law of the Spirit, having a heart after God. I like how the King James words it: For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. In the southeastern United States there’s a way the word after is used. One could say “I’m after me some food” or “That dog is after them cats again”. It’s a word that means following or pursuing; often times the pursuit of a desire. So you can say that they that are following after the desire of the flesh think around the things of the flesh; but they who are following after the desire of the Spirit think around the things of the Spirit. This goes in lines with Romans 12:2 to allow God to change the way you think. Colossians 3:9&10 talk about that we’ve taken off the old nature, or man, and that we have put on the new nature. I just find it sad when people blame sin on God; he is not the author of sin and, even further than that, he’s provided the escape from every bondage and chain.

What do you say to a gay friend? (Homosexuality)

This seems to be a a lot of confusion on this, and so I want to share this audio file with everyone because I really believe that it will help you to better understand the worlds views vs God’s truths.

The gist of it all should bring clarity.
