Anonymous asked: A friend of mine was saved about a year ago. But right now he's going through a harsh break up. He's telling me that's he's going to break his promise to God, and starting smoking weed and drinking again. he says he's lost his faith in God, and no longer trusts him. I don't know what to do right now. I'm scared for him. He's only 17, but he feels he has nothing to live for. I don't know what to say or do. Please help!
Sometimes God let’s us go through trials in order for us to become closer to Him. I encourage you to read James 1:1-13 it talks about trials and maybe you could share it with your friend.
“If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?” - Matthew 18:12
God loves your friend dearly and He won’t let Him go as it says in the verse above. Also, keep your friend in your prayers and just continue to be a light in his life.
We’ll be praying for him as well.
God bless <3
Anonymous asked: Why do we as Christians go through trials?
“These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.” - 1 Peter 1:7
God gives us trials for numerous reasons: to teach us things, to show us we’re going the wrong way (to bring us back to Him), to test our faith, to make us stronger in God, etc.
Each& every trial has a reason no matter how small or how big they are. You can rest assured that God works all trials for His and our (the ones who love Him) good because He loves us.
So, it’s good for us to go through trials, it’s a sign that God loves you! The bible says ”All God’s kids are getting it!” hahah. c:
“And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, ‘My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.’ Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? - Hebrews 12:5-7
“Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.” -1 Peter 4:12-13
So, All trials are for our good.
